 English Women's Lacrosse Umpires

Online Rules Exam

From September 2009 onwards all umpires need to pass an annual online rules test in order to maintain their qualification. The aim of the test is to ensure that anyone umpiring women's or girls' lacrosse remains up to date with their knowledge of the rules, recent developments and interpretation. We hope that this will enhance the enjoyment of games for all concerned.

The test is administered through our assigning website. Qualified umpires can take the test by clicking here to follow a link to that website, most of which is still under construction but should be live shortly. The test element is already operational. If you already hold a current umpire rating you can login using your email address and first name. Then click on the Quiz button to begin the test.

Please note that as this is the first season and some people have been finding it difficult to access their accounts, the deadline for passing the test has been extended to 31 January 2010. If you have not taken and passed the test by that date your qualification will lapse as at 1 February 2010, and you will no longer be eligible to umpire any game which requires qualified umpires.

You may take the test as often as you like in order to obtain the score you need to pass. The pass mark depends upon the rating you hold or wish to obtain in the course of the current season.
Apprentice and Level 1 umpires must obtain at least 75% (open book)
Level 2 umpires must obtain at least 80% (open book)
Territorial (Level 3) umpires must obtain at least 80% (closed book)
