Rating Requirements
All umpires are required to meet and maintain certain standards in order to obtain and retain their qualification and rating. The extent of those requirements varies according to the level of rating.
The standards which apply to each rating level can be found below. Please note that these are new standards introduced in 2009 and show the terminology changes introduced in October 2009. Any umpire rating or re-rating from now on will be required to meet these criteria regardless of their previous experience.
If you have any questions about the rating requirements, please email administrator@laxumps.co.uk For courses and field testing opportunities, please check our Calendar page and/or contact assignor@laxumps.co.uk

The Women’s Lacrosse umpiring year runs from 1 September to 31 August. References to annual requirements apply to these dates.
In order to obtain and retain their ratings, all umpires are required annually:
1. To pass the online rules test at the appropriate level
2. To meet the minimum game requirement and maintain and submit a game log
3. To provide sufficient service and maintain and submit a service log
4. To ensure that they have attended an appropriate rules course run by the R&U within the past 3 years
If your rating has been lost due to failure to comply with the requirements, or if it has expired, you may apply to the R&U to be reinstated as an umpire (at the R&U’s discretion) at your former level, or at any lower level subject to:
1. Passing the online rules test with the appropriate score
2. Passing the field test element for that level and
3. Attending a course if required by the R&U to do so
