REVISED BASIC UMPIRING REQUIREMENTS
New information as available for Apprentice and Local (L1) umpires and for those arranging umpiring for Club and College games
APPRENTICE/LOCAL LEVEL UMPIRE COURSES 2009-10 SEASON
The first course dates have been announced for next season. They are:-
(1) July 2nd 2009 at Queen Margaret's School, York
(2) August 17th 2009 at the Chiswick Lacrosse Camp
(3) October 10th 2009 at Durham University
and
(4) January 11th 2010 at Queen Anne's School, Caversham
These courses are suitable for beginners and people with some umpiring experience looking to gain or renew a Local Level (L1) qualification. They generally run from 9am until about 4pm and comprise classroom sessions in the morning and on-field tutoring in the afternoon. Those who complete the course to a satisfactory standard will obtain an Apprentice rating. Further field testing is required to obtain or renew a Local (L1) rating). Places on these courses are limited, so please contact assignor@laxumps.co.uk as soon as possible if you are interested in attending.

NEW RULES TO BE TRIALLED
At meetings during the recent World Cup in Prague, FIL identified a number of potential changes to the rules which it wishes to have trialled by its member nations during the 2009-10 season in preparation for the new rule book due to be published in 2010. The proposed changes will be published here as soon as they are available to us.
DURHAM UNIVERSITY WELCOMES UMPIRES ...
... every Saturday at 11am to hone your umpiring skills at the University teams' practice sessions and friendly matches. All qualified umpires are welcome, from Apprentices to Internationals! The last chance for this season will be on 20th June, but the sessions will return in October.
